PSA FROM MIO ABOUT BIL
Michigan Infrastructure Office
CASE STUDY
When Congress passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), the State of Michigan was allotted upwards of $11 billion. As a result, Governor Gretchen Whitmer established the Michigan Infrastructure Office (MIO) to ensure resources sent to Michigan through BIL, also known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) are used efficiently and effectively.
The Michigan Infrastructure Office brought in Moment Strategies to serve as MIO’s communications division.

For the past three years, our team has developed earned media and digital communications strategies geared toward ensuring every Michigander is aware of the investments being made across the state to strengthen our infrastructure, protect our natural resources and improve quality of life. In addition to driving and executing all communications, we work with MIO leadership and the Governor’s Office to plan press conferences, develop talking points, engage stakeholders and more.

To date, we’ve developed a number of campaigns that have led to significant local and national coverage of key infrastructure investments. Those campaigns the launch of the Midwest’s first hydrogen hub, the Michigan Climate Justice Challenge and how MIO’s Technical Assistance Center helps communities navigate the Elective Pay (Direct Pay) process.
