Case Study: Michigan Infrastructure Office

Overview

When Congress passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), the State of Michigan was allotted upwards of $11 Billion Dollars. As a result, Governor Gretchen Whitmer established the Michigan Infrastructure Office (MIO) to ensure resources sent to Michigan through BIL, also known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) are used efficiently and effectively.

The Michigan Infrastructure Office brought in Moment Strategies to serve as MIO’s communications division.

Strategy

Our team developed an earned media and digital communications strategy geared towards ensuring every Michigander is aware of the investments being made across the state to strengthen our infrastructure and improve our quality of life.

Results

To date, we’ve developed a number of campaigns that have led to significant local and national coverage of key infrastructure investments. Those campaigns include the historic removal of I-375,  the launch of the Midwest’s first hydrogen hub and the effort to encourage the expansion of broadband coverage across Michigan’s rural and urban communities.
